Among other items the windows in each room are inspected. In this photo the bottom of the window sash is deteriorating.

    Structure
The house structure is inspected from both the attic and crawl space when accessable. Here the floor joist was improperly cut and needs to be evaluated by a licensed contractor.

    Electirical
Each electrical panel will be inspected by removing the cover. Here we can see exposed wires which are a defect that needs to be fixed by a licensed electrician.
  4. Managing Director
    Plumbing
I will inspect the water heater as well as the plumbing throughout the house where visible. This also includes determining if a gas appliance has adequate drafting.
  5. Managing Director
    A/C
Each of the exterior AC units are inspected for damage, rust, or missing insulation on the gas line (as seen in this photo).
  6. Managing Director
    Exterior
I will check all of the patios as part of the exterior inspection. In this photo I noted the large crack that spanned the entire patio.
?Why should you get a home inspection
Without a doubt getting a home inspection as part of your home buying experience is a necessity.  After all, your home is the most expensive item you are likely to buy in your lifetime. As a home inspector, I obviously believe this. But I don't want you to take my word for it, press the "Read More" button to see what others are saying about the need, and there is a need, for a home inspection.

Services
At 5-Star I provide a number of different inspection types, they include:
  • Pre-purchase inspection -  An inspection of a home you are in the process of purchasing.  This is the most common inspection that is requested.
  • Pre-sale inspection - This is an inspection of your current home.  The advantage is that you will know what items need to be addressed before listing.
  • New construction inspection - This is an inspection for a newly constructed house. Typically it is carried out in several steps as the house is constructed - before house systems are hidden behind walls & ceilings.
